Outline (in English)

The purpose of this seminar is to enable students to face various aspects in vast Spanish-speaking nations, not only from Spain but Mexico in the north as well as the Argentine in the south etc.

Many of these problems have broken out in close contacts and relations with Europe, America and other countries in the world. What unexpected crucial scenes and points do students discover in approaching the problems in Spanish-speaking nations ?

To achieve the goal, there are diverse angles according to students’ own interests──history, art, sports, literature and so forth. It is, however, not enough to discover and confront their own favorite fields. Starting from their interesting areas, it is hopefully important to assess a variety of aspects in their flexible views.

In this seminar, students will be expected to challenge various activities to find out crucial points, mostly speaking Japanese. This course is, therefore, open to all students──including those unfamiliar with Spanish language.

We sincerely welcome all students challenging our exciting intellectual discovery-trip.

Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Your study time will be more than two hours for a class.

Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following;
Quality of the students' presentation in the class: 70% and in class contribution:30%
