Outline (in English)

(Course Outline)This course aims to deepen the understanding of British and Irish Literature from the 18th century to the 20th century, and to examine social, cultural and historical backgrounds of each literary work.
(Learning Objective)By the end of the semester, students are expected to make themselves familiar with the history of British and Irish Literature and to acquire an understanding about the relation between social, cultural and historical backgrounds and literary works.
(Learning activities outside of classroom) Students should read the relevant literary materiel beforehand, and spend more than one hour preparing for each class.
