Outline (in English)

In this class, we will examine the various ways in which people are connecting with each other in today's world, and consider what kind of form and role the "third place," which is necessary for people apart from their homes and workplaces, will take in the future.

The goal of the class is for participants to be able to reconsider how people are connected to each other and how people are connected to society, while considering "third places" in the present age.

There will be times when students will be required to watch video materials (20-30 minutes) online as part of their learning outside of class time. Students will also be required to submit their reactions to the class within 3 days of the class. In addition, each student is expected to complete assignments outside of class. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 4 hours each.

Grades will be based on 60% of normal points and 40% of assignments. Students are required to submit all assignments.
