Outline (in English)

This intermediate French course includes mainly oral production based on phonetic knowledge. Class meets four times a week. Students will prepare to study abroad in Angers, France (fall semester, 2022).

[Learning Objectives]
By the end of this course, students should be able to do the following at a minimum

1) You have learned to understand the meaning of the expressions in the textbook when you hear them.
2) You have been able to write the expressions you have learned in the textbook in French.
3) You have learned how to use the expressions in the textbook in your own conversations.
4) You will know how to read and understand sentences related to various situations in daily life.
5) You are expected to be able to express your opinions on texts related to various aspects of daily life.
6) You have been able to write emails and simple letters in French.

[Learning Activities outside of Classroom]
1) Please repeat and pronounce the important sentences in the textbook after each class to make them your own.
2) According to the Standards for the Establishment of Universities, the amount of preparation and revision time required to earn two credits for a lecture or seminar is at least four hours per session. If you follow this standard, the time you will spend on preparation and review for this exercise should be at least 35 minutes per day.

Your overall grade in the class will be decided on the following:
1) Attendance 30%
2) In-class activities (including quizzes) 40%
3) Tests 30%
