Outline (in English)

This is an introductory course to understand and analyze the issues and problems of international relations. This course deals with major concepts, theoretical frameworks, dynamics, and structure of international relations in historical context. This course also introduce how International Study has been conducted based on people’s perspectives on international relations. The focus is on from the Peace of Westphalia to World War I.
It is strongly recommended that this course be taken before taking “Introduction to International Study II”.
【Learning Objectives】
Students will be able to
1.Understand the origins and evolution of the international relations with key concepts and theories of International Studies.
2. Develop a critical thinking about some issues in contemporary world and analyzing them thorough understanding of International Studies as an academic discipline.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
The standard time required for preparatory study and review for this class are 2 hours each.

1. Reaction Papers, Quizzes and Small Assignments during the semester:50%
2.Final Report:50%
