Outline (in English)

The course is designed to facilitate an understanding of culture and society from the perspective of gender and sexuality. It introduces various issues related to gender and sexuality so that students become better able to analyze their own culture as well as other cultures in a multifaceted way from the standpoint of gender.

By the end of the course, students are expected to be able to: 1) understand the basic concepts in gender studies, and 2) acquire basic methods of discourse analysis and conduct basic discourse analysis on various gender-related issues.

Students will be expected to 1)check the basic concepts related to the next class lecture, and 2) review the content of the class and work on the assignments.

The final grade will be decided by reaction paper (40%) and the final assignment (60%).
