・Course Outline: Through examining a form of body representation in visual art and culture, this course aims to introduce students to the way of viewing or showing the human body. With the idea of a historically or culturally defined boundary between the body and society, students will develop their own way of viewing the human body from a social perspective.
・Learning Objectives: By the end of this course, students will be able to understand the various styles in body representation seen in the field of art and culture and connect such styles with historical and social background. As a result, they will be able to provide a critical insight into the bodies in the work of art.
