Outline (in English)

We can connect with individuals and society through media. On the other hand, there are various problems caused in the course of these connections, so we need to deepen our understanding of diversified media.

This course will explore what role media has in society, how future media should be, and concrete examples such as video materials.

Focusing on the three themes of "History of Contemporary Media," "Media Theory," and "Media and Representation," we will consider and discuss issues and issues from keywords in each area.
1. Media history
Learn about the history and history of the media from ancient times to the present.
2. Media theory
We will clarify the media that work in society and their problems.
3. Media and representation
Read and understand various expressions from the perspective of the media.

Learning Objectives
Introducing familiar examples of media and society from the past to the present. This lecture aims to find universal and social issues from everyday issues.

Learning activities outside of the classroom
The content delivered on the Google site contains many website links to deepen your learning, so we recommend browsing the ones that interest you. There are also many museums and galleries near the university. If possible, depending on the infection status of the new coronavirus, please watch exhibitions.
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

Grading Criteria /Policy
Grades will be evaluated based on the total of class activities, assignments and reports. We emphasize the experimentality and positiveness of our efforts. The scoring ratio is as follows.
1. Initiatives for classes (50%)
2. Issues and reports (50%)
See rubrics for specific assessment guidelines.
Based on this grade evaluation method, those who have achieved 60% or more of the achievement target of this class will be accepted.
