Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
In this course, we will look at the information industry based on the transmission path (broadcasting, communication), using the services of broadcasting contents both in Japan and abroad, and grasp the current state of various media services. And we will look into the future. Based on the Internet environment, what kind of impact will the development of personal communication media represented by smart terminals, IoT and AI have on broadcasting, newspapers, and magazines of the conventional mass media? I also think about the progress of those media.

【Learning Objectives】
The goal is to understand the following.
   −Global media trends.
   −Changes in TV media.
   −Internet progress
   -Broadcast and communication cooperation service
   -The service that broadcasting aims for
   -Future outlook for various mass media
   -Media literacy
   -ICT(Information and Communication Technology) policy in Japan

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Always be interested in newspapers, television, internet information, etc., and deepen your understanding of the current media service development on a daily basis. To deepen your understanding through review of the questions answered in class and the materials to be distributed. The standard learning and review time for lessons is 2 hours each.

【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Evaluation is based on 60% of normal points and 40% of reports. Submission of two reports is mandatory.Normal points are evaluated based on the impressions of the lesson submitted after the lesson and the content of the questions.
