Outline (in English)

【授業の概要(Course outline)】
In this lecture, students aiming for the teaching profession will learn fundamental matters related to teaching jobs, and will decide their aptitude and will aim to raise motivation for the teaching profession.
We will examine the current situations of school education and school teachers, their careers, future issues and so on.

【到達目標(Learning Objectives)】
In this lecture, students will consider teaching as one of their future options, and will gain a basic understanding of the significance of the teaching profession, the role of teachers, their qualifications and abilities, and their duties. They will also consider what it means to be a teacher, what they need to learn and acquire in order to do so, and determine their own aptitude and motivation for the teaching profession.

【授業時間外の学習(Learning activities outside of classroom)】
Before and/or after each class meeting, students are required to have completed the required assignments such as
- Rereading and summarising the material handed out in class
- Completing the worksheets
- Submitting Attendance Check Assignment.
Students are expected to keep up to date with current education-related issues through newspapers and TV news.
Studens'study time will be more than two hours for a class.

【成績評価の方法と基準(Grading Criteria/Policy)】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
Term-end examination: 60%, Attendance Check assignment: 40%
