Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
In this lesson, we will consider various tasks and learn about industries and companies in modern society. From the lecture of the guest speaker, we think about what kind of persons are required in society, working on organization. By acquiring up-to-date information on companies and societies that change every day, we will acquire the ability to design our own careers. Also, through this lesson, you will have the opportunity to think about career selection.

[Learning Objectives]
The three objectives are as follows
(1) To develop an interest in various work styles and jobs
(2) To understand various companies and how to work there.
(3) To develop a positive attitude toward one's own career development.
The goal is to eliminate prejudice and preconceptions about various industries, companies, and careers, and to develop the ability to analyze and understand industries and companies on one's own.

[Method]
Each session will feature guests from a variety of companies with various positions and titles. They will talk about the latest trends in their industries. Each session will consist of 80 minutes of lecture, 10 minutes for Q&A, and 10 minutes for report writing. However, the allocation of time for each lecture is subject to change. Also, the type of business and other details may change due to the instructor's availability. If the lecture falls on a national holiday, it is difficult to invite a guest speaker, so the class may be held for the preparation of the mid-term report.

[Learning activities outside of classroom]
We do not require any special preparation, but please be prepared to ask one or two questions after obtaining information from the Internet, newspapers, etc. in advance. This is a valuable opportunity, so please do not waste it. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

[Grading Criteria /Policy]
The evaluation will be based on 60% of brief pre and post comments to be submitted in each class and 40% of final and mid-term reports.
