Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
In this class,students can learn the importance and the way how employees work with firm develop their vocational skills and abilities in each organisations. In industrial society in modern society, human resource development may be indispansable for business activities of firms, on the other hand, working employees also depend on firms that empoly them. Main purpose of this class is to learn about environment in which firm train employees and employees develop thier skill.
【Learning Objectives】
(1) Understand the mechanism and characteristics of human resource development in Japan and their advantages and disadvantages.
(2) Be able to explain the methods and characteristics of vocational education and training in Japanese organizations.
(3) Understand the impact of vocational education and training on skill formation and career development, and deepen awareness of the current situation and policy issues in which the labor market and career development are diversifying.
【Learning activities outside classroom】
Make an effort to read the references instructed during class. The standard preparatory study and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
【Grading Criteria/Policy】
Attendance points 30 points. 20 interim reports. Final report (or exam) 50 points.
