Outline (in English)

【授業の概要(Course outline)】
This class aims to develop students’ understandings on educational organisation management, through dealing with policy process and its content in several key educational policy areas, and through co-analysing mini-case studies conducted by each student on an educational organisation.

【到達目標(Learning Objectives)】
At the end of this class, students are expected to i) develop understandings on policy process and its content in several key education policy areas, ii) be able to analyse laws, regulations, policy documents, and minutes of government councils and national diet, iii) be able to collect information, compile data and analyse cases of educational organisations, and iv) be able to critically examine current educational policy, rather than just accepting it as a given, forming own opinions on how it should be.

【授業時間外の学習(Learning activities outside of classroom)】
Before and/or after each class meeting, students are required to have completed the required assignments such as
- Rereading and summarising the material handed out in class
- Submitting Attendance Check Assignment.
- Conducting case study

The standard preparation and review time for this class is two hours each.

【成績評価の方法と基準(Grading Criteria /Policy)】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
Attendance Check: 50%, Term report: 50%
