Outline (in English)

(Course outline): Students will learn the theory and practices of "Media and information literacy" that are based on the curriculum of the UNESCO, analyze real media and information contents, and lead presentations/discussions/debates in a group. Examples include the theoretical background of media and information literacy concerning citizenship, media, information language, representation, and so on.

(Learning Objectives): Through analysis of diverse media, students can develop the following four competencies of media and information literacy education: critical thinking skills, media production, communication skills, and collaboration skills.

(Learning activities outside of classroom): Students should be aware that group activities outside of class may be required depending on the situation. Active participation in class and group activities is expected.

(Grading Criteria /Policy): Comprehensive evaluation will be based on individual assignment (analysis) (30%), group work and presentations (including presentation materials, group activity reports, etc.), class attendance and participation contribution (20%), and individual reports (50%).
