Outline (in English)

Course Outline: Students will learn the fundamentals of understanding inequality and disparity by focusing on the relationship between education, schools and social structure.

Learning Objectives:
(1) To be able to understand how "questions" are formulated about social events and the differences in positions.
(2) To be able to utilize group work in collaboration with others as an opportunity for learning.
(3) To be able to search for appropriate government statistics, understand their contents, and use them.
(4)To be able to understand that what we do with good intentions may have unintended consequences.


Learning Activities Outside of Classroom: Preparation and review should be 2 hours each.

Grading Criteria: Reaction papers and mini-assignments: 40%, final exam: 60%.
