Outline (in English)

I will explain from various themes about the development, provision and utilization of information in museums, and also explain about the current situation and issues of museums based on each theme. In particular, since information and communication technologies are progressing rapidly, I will try to introduce new cases as much as possible, and also consider future possibilities and developments. Learn to understand new initiatives and think about what the museum should be like in the future. Students who aspire to work related to museums in the future will be able to acquire basic abilities regarding the provision and utilization of museum information, such as understanding the significance and utilization of information in museums and the challenges of disseminating information. In addition, students who wish to work outside the museum, including those related to culture and education, can improve museum literacy by understanding how to utilize information in the museum in order to become wise users and supporters of the museum. Please visit museums and art galleries so that you can imagine how information is being used in museums. Also, check the museum's homepage and information sites about the museum. In class, I try to introduce as many examples as possible. The examples introduced in each lesson will be compiled into materials and posted on the learning support system at a later date. The material will include a wealth of information that could not be introduced in class, so a review is necessary. Please carry out learning activities to understand the contents individually, such as checking the literature, the Internet, and in some cases on-site about the cases taken up in the class. Since this is a lecture about museums, you may not understand the contents unless you know what kind of facility the museum is and what kind of activities it is doing. Please try to understand the museum by actively engaging in learning activities outside the class. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 4 hours each. In this subject, a comprehensive evaluation will be made based on "normal points" and "report assignments". For "normal points", after each lesson, you will be asked to submit a request paper based on the content of the lesson, and the learning situation and degree of participation in the lesson will be evaluated. Report assignments (think issues that lead to the content set in the goals) will be presented at the end of the term. "Report assignment" evaluates whether it is possible to put together a report with contents that match a given assignment. Evaluation is based on the distribution of "normal score 40% (40 points)" and "report assignment 60% (60 points)" (total 100 points).
