Outline (in English)

In this class, students will learn the method of information resource organization, that is, how to classify books, give subject headings and make bibliographic data for library catalog.
The goal of this class is to get skills of using NDC (Nippon Decimal Classification), BSH (Basic Subject Headings) and NCR (Nippon Cataloging Rules).
Students are required to read the instructed part of the textbook before every class, to search books according to the instructed theme in each class, to prepare bibliographic information, author and publisher's information and to make their entries (cataloging data).
Grades will be evaluated by attendance, submission of each assignment (80%), and term-end report (20%).
