Outline (in English)

【Course outline】This class aims to gain basic understanding of the history of social studies and civic education, the goals and contents in the National Courses of Study, and teaching materials research and learning methods. Also, based on this knowledge and skills, the class further discusses how to develop lesson plans and actually design them.【Learning Objectives】Students are able to design lesson plans and practice simulated lessons on the basis of understanding the goals and contents of social studies and civic education as well as learning theories, for building competencies required as a junior and high school social studies and civic education teacher.【Learning activities outside of classroom】The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.【Grading Criteria/Policy】Comprehensive evaluation based on in-class contribution (20%), learning tasks (60%), reports (20%), etc.
