Outline (in English)

Course outline: This course aims to consider labor and industrial relations in Japan from the perspective of transnational sociology.
Learning Objectives: In this course, students will be expected to learn the theoretical and practical issues related to the world of work in transition, discuss research questions and methods of each participant’s research interest and attempt to apply the ideas and framework of transnational sociology into one’s field of research.
Learning activities outside of classroom: Before each class meeting, students will be expected to read the relevant chapter(s) from the reading assignments.
Grading Criteria: Overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following.
Term-end paper: 50%、in class contribution: 50%
