This higher-level graduate course aims to help students
improve the skills needed to be able to read texts related to
Global Politics in English with increasing levels of efficiency,
comprehension and critical judgement.
到達目標Goal
The main focus is to improve student’s reading comprehension,
critical thinking skills regarding the content and vocabulary
development through interaction with increasingly complex
reading material.

The course will attempt to utilize and improve all four language skills to increase comprehension and vocabulary development through interaction with increasingly complex reading material. The course is thematically organised, thereby enabling concepts, topics and vocabulary to be recycled and reinforced. A wide variety of media, including magazine and newspaper articles, essays and papers published in academic journals and web-based material will be utilized
and studied with the aim of boosting academic reading and critical thinking skills, along with vocabulary acquisition. Interaction with classmates in pair work, small group and whole class activities will offer ample opportunities to exchange information and opinions in an interactive manner. Reading circles will be used for discussions based on reading material with group member having various responsibilities to perform.
