Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
 Political history of Japan 2 is an essay to clarify the relation among Okinawa, Showa emperor and U.S.-Japan security arrangements. At a glance, students feel strange about the relation of the three. But recent years, some historical materials were discovered and have shown the evidences of the relation. Today--30 years after the Showa period-- it is essential for us to examine newly found historical fact.
【Learning objectives】
 The goals of this course are to understand the political history of post-war Japan and the role of Showa Emperor.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】 
 Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.

 Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
