Outline (in English)

(Course outline)Micro and macro issues concerning applied zoology are dealt in our lectures. In the first half, students learn about the domestication, breeding and reproduction of livestock. This lecture also introduces animal reproductive technology such as artificial insemination and embryo transfer. In the second half, we learn about the scientific approach to resolving human-wildlife conflicts. We explore resolutions from both natural sciences and social sciences, such as ecology of wildlife, use of wildlife resources, change of human activities, and so on.
(Learning Objectives)The goals of this course are to acquire basic knowledge about livestock and wildlife.
(Learning activities outside of classroom)Before/after each lecture, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
(Grading Criteria /Policy)Final grade will be calculated according to the following process: Mid-term report (30%), term-end examination (30%), short-reports (30%), and class attendance and attitude in class (10%)
