Outline (in English)
【Course outline】
In the Plant Pharmacology class, students will learn a wide range of
basic knowledge about pesticides that contribute to food production.
Students will learn about the following aspects related to pesticides.
History of pesticide development, types of pesticides, and mechanisms of action of pesticides, formulation technology, laws and regulations, safety assessment, environmental assessment ,etc.
【Learning Objectives】
In the Plant Pharmacology class, students will learn the expertise of
pesticides and aim to reach a level where they can play an active role in the field of agriculture.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
After each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
【Grading criteria /policy】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on term end
examination (70%) and learning attitude (30%)

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
食糧増産に貢献している植物薬理剤（農薬）について、その開発の歴史、農薬の種類、作用機構、製剤技術、法的規制、農薬の安全性評価、環境評価と規制等について学び、農薬に関する幅広い専門知識を学ぶ。
到達目標Goal
農薬に関する専門知識を学び、環境に対する影響、食の安全に関する項目を学習して、植物保護における農薬の必要性と役割を理解する。実現場で正しく農薬を使用できることを目指す。

初回講義で、農薬の役割、安全性、規制法の概要を解説する。各論として、農薬の種類と作用機構、製剤の種類についての講義を行う。また、農薬の使用による薬剤抵抗性・耐性菌の出現とその対応策についての講義を行う。更に、環境影響や生態毒性に関する概論を説明して、環境と調和した使用法について講義する。フィードバックとして、授業の初めに前回の授業内容の再確認を行う。
