Outline (in English)

This course introduces the fundamentals of special relativity. Using special relativity as an example, students will learn the basics of the concepts of time and space and the coordinate systems that describe them. By treating space and time in a unified manner, the theory of relativity incorporates the effects of gravitational fields within the framework of classical mechanics. First, the framework of relativity will be reviewed, and then the extent to which it has been confirmed by experiments will be introduced. Evaluation will be based on the overall evaluation of the student's performance, including the regular grade, reports, etc. (50%), and the final examination (50%).
