Outline (in English)

We guess objects from the data, make inference on them, and give some guarantee to the inference results. Systematically learn such a framework. Learn the concept of statistics by making a correct understanding on the concept of statistical guesses and statistics.
(goal)
All the students understand the effective scope and limits of statistics, and learn testing method of statistics through lectures and exercises as a tool for correct reasoning. In particular, all the students are expected to be deep understanding by explaining problems that appear in various fields and situations and their solutions.
Every students are requested as the following:
・ For specific examples, points / intervals can be tested and estimated.
・ A chi-square test can be performed for a specific example.
・ For a concrete example, the F distribution can be tested.
・ Goodness-of-fit test can be performed for specific examples.
・ I understand the meaning of the test correctly.
(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
Students are encouraged to solve the exercises (or assignments) corresponding to the previous lesson.
(Grading Criteria)
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
Short reports 25%, Mid-term examination 35%, Term-end examination 40%.
