Outline (in English)

Students learn the various mathematical techniques necessary to analyze and understand actual phenomena and data.

(Learning Objectives)
By the end of the course, students will acquire an understanding of:
1) some mathematical methods related to management science for the analysis of simple phenomena in practical situations
2) simple Markov chain modeling, and several important concepts of basic mathematics.

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Each student should review mathematics learned in his/her high school.
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content and do assignments.

(Grading Criteria)
Your overall grade in the class will be decided by adding two scores of both supervisors (50%+50%).
Each supervisor makes your score based on short reports and his term-end report. Details will be explained at the beginning of his term.
