Outline (in English)
(Course outline)
This lecture develops the essential ability to publish research results through presentations and discussions and presentations based on several research themes.
The target field deals with industrial and systems engineering fields based on statistics.
This lecture aims to acquire universal problem-solving methods and logical thinking by experiencing problem finding, statistical modeling, and analysis.
(Learning objectives)
Through research, students will develop
(1) The ability to recognize and organize problems
(2) The ability to find problems to be solved
(3) Ability to solve the problem
(4) Ability to express the results of the solution

(Learning activities outside of the classroom)
Review the contents of the courses up to the third year, especially probability theory and statistics, and the basics necessary for research, such as writing documents using LaTeX.
(Grading criteria /policies)
Students will be evaluated based on a discussion of the research theme and achievement of the research (50%), a paper summarizing the research results (30%), and a presentation of the research results (20%).

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
研究課題などによる課題探求を通じて，研究課題に取り組むための基礎能力を養う．対象分野は，統計学に基づいた経営システム工学に関連する分野，特に生産工学分野や生産設備のストレス下における寿命解析等を扱う．問題発見，統計モデリング，分析の経験をもとに，普遍的な問題解決手法および論理的思考の獲得を目指す．

(3) その問題を解決する能力
(4) 解決された結果を表現する能力
を養う．

各自，研究テーマについて取り組む．研究進捗は発表形式で行う．研究は個別に指導する．研究成果をLaTeX によって文書にまとめる．発表に対するフィードバックは質疑を通じて行う．また，授業内では聴講している学生からの良いコメントを紹介し，さらなる議論に活かす．

【本授業の準備・復習等の授業時間外学習は、4時間を標準とする】3年次までの経営システム工学科の授業内容，特に確率論・統計学と，LaTeX による文書作成など，研究に必要な基礎を復習する．
