Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
We study nonlinear programming (nonlinear optimization) that is one research field of operations research.
In this lecture, convex analysis, optimization theory and numerical methods for unconstrained optimization are presented.
Furthermore, we briefly deal with constrained optimization.

(Learning Objectives)
The goals of this course are to understand optimization theory and numerical optimization.

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after class meeting. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.

(Grading Criteria /Policies)
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
Term-end examination: 50%、reports and class contribution: 50%
