Outline (in English)

This course deals with the properties of radio waves and electromagnetic fields used in wireless communications and radar. It also introduces the basics of antennas, feed circuits and radio wave propagation that are indispensable for these systems.
The goal of this course is to learn the basic principle and essence of radio waves and electromagnetic fields, and the evaluation indices and characteristics of antennas and radio wave propagation.
Students will be expected to have solved the problems given in each class meeting.
Grading will be decided based on term-end examination (80%) and short reports (20%).
