Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
This course studies the applied thermodynamics from the view points of basic thermodynamics and industrial thermodynamics Ⅰ for refrigeration cycles. Topics include the refrigerators and heat pumps, the reversed Carnot cycle, the ideal Vapor-compression refrigeration cycle, actual vapor compression refrigeration cycle, selecting the light refrigerant and heat pump system.

(Learning objectives)
The specific objectives of this integrated subjects are to
1)be able to explain the difference of the ideal vapor-compression refrigeration cycle and the actual vapor-compression refrigeration by the theoretical applied thermodynamics properties.
2)be able to analyze from the view points of applied thermodybamics for the heat pump systems and innovative vapor-compression refrigeration systems.

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.

(Grading criteria/Policies)
Your final grade will be decided according to the following process:
・Only students with an attendance rate of the ratio of over 70%(10/14 or over) will be evaluated.
・Usual performance score 10%, term-end examination 90%.
To pass, students must earn at least 60 points out of 100.
