Outline (in English)

【Course outline】Mechanics of materials is a basic engineering subject related to the strength and physical performance of structures. This course covers fundamental concepts such as stresses and strains, deformations and displacements, elasticity and inelasticity, and load-carrying capacity extended to analysis and design of structural members subjected to tension, compression and bending.
【Learning Objectives】 The aim of this course is to learn fundamentals of mechanics of materials.【Learning activities outside of classroom】 Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend 4 hours to understand the course content. 【Grading Criteria /Policy】 The total score of 60 or more out of 100 is considered acceptable.
