Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
This course provides an introduction to basic concepts and principle of heat transfer and their applications in mechanical engineering. The aim of this course is to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts and principles of heat transfer.

(Learning objectives)
The specific objectives of this integrated subjects are as follows: 1)Explain the basic concepts of heat transfer such as Fourier's law, conduction processes, thermal resistance, Elementary convection including laminar and turbulent boundary layers, thermal radiation, including Stefan-Boltzmann law and basic concepts of heat exchangers.

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.

(Grading criteria/Policies)
Your final grade will be decided according to the following process:
・The ratio of class attendance over 70%(over 10/14) will be decided the final grade
・Usual performance score 10%, term-end examination 90%.
To pass, students must earn at least 60 points out of 100.
