Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
PBL (Project-based learning) is an instructional method in which students learn a range of skills and subject matter in the process of creating their own projects. These projects are solutions to a real-world, especially engineering problems and SDGs. What is most important in PBL is that students learn in the process of making something and work in groups and bring their own experiences, abilities, learning styles and perspectives to the project.
【Learning Objectives】
In order to become mechanical engineers, students will think about what they need to learn to contribute to society, and recognize the importance of acquiring specialized knowledge.
Students will acquire the ability to identify their own learning issues and solve them through self-study.
Students will recognize the importance of explaining their ideas logically and having others understand them through discussions, presentations, and report writing, and will acquire the communication and presentation skills necessary to do so.
Students will learn to recognize their own roles as well as cooperation in collaborative work, and learn how to identify and solve problems in specific work processes.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend 4 hours to understand the course content. Each faculty member will instruct the necessary activities.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
The total score score of 60 or more out of 100 is considered acceptable.
