Outline (in English)

This German course aims at teaching students many common expressions as well as enriching their grammatical knowledge and vocabulary from the viewpoint of practical language use in order that they can achieve communicative abilities needed in simple everyday situations. By the end of the course, students should be able to do the following:
- Pass the DDJ (Diplom Deutsch in Japan) test for “Elementarstufe”
- Understand the main points of short simple texts (e.g. advertisement, brochure) using grammatical knowledge and vocabulary learned
- Use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases
After each class meeting, students will be expected to review learning content, listen to the native speakers on audio and talk along with them. Your required study time is at least one hour for each class meeting.
Grading will be decided based on usual performance score (40%) and term-end examination (60%).
