【Course outline】
Students learn how to use school library’s functions and resources for teaching. For that purpose they learn an inquiry learning and information literacy. This subject is a weak point in Japanese school library. To realize that teaching needs using school library, library staffs(teacher librarian and school librarian)have to appeal the meaning of school library to teachers.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
If possible, actually visit the school library to see the layout, classification, cataloging, and distribution of the school library to get a concrete picture of the media as a whole. In addition, be aware that many ICT-related media, such as the GIGA school concept, have entered the field of school education, and actively learn about the latest trends in these media and strive to make use of them.
