Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
Explain the significance, purpose and method of the document organization (classification and catalog) in the library. The goal is to understand the document organization and master the knowledge and thinking skills necessary as a library librarian.
【Learning Objectives】
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
① Understand the meaning of the library material structure.
② Have acquired basic knowledge of classification and catalog.
③ Understand the current trends of material organizations in the world of libraries.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours. Depending on the content of the lecture, we will instruct you to investigate terms and matters in advance. Use textbooks, and reference books for preparatory learning. Also, in the review, try to organize your knowledge so that you can explain the important matters of the lesson contents by yourself.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following.
Final reportn:60%、Short reports:20%、in class contribution:20%
