Outline (in English)

Course outline
In this course, you will learn the skills necessary for information services through exercises based on the knowledge you learned in information service theory.
1. Learn how to search information sources (databases).
2. Learn how to build website and database for outgoing information service.

Learning Objectives
(1) Understand the contents of questions from users in the library reference service. Then, you will be able to select appropriate information resources.
(2) You will be able to master information resources such as various databases.
(3) Acquire basic knowledge of ICT necessary for outgoing information services.

Learning activities outside of classroom
The class support system "HULiC" dedicated to the librarian course will be used for presenting class materials, contacting, and submitting assignments. http://lc.i.hosei.ac.jp/
This subject will proceed on the assumption that you are preparing for it. If you are absent, read the text carefully and review it based on the guidance in "Hulic" above.
The standard preparatory study and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

Grading Criteria /Policy
Your final grade will be calculated according
to the following process:
summer assignment　35％
winter assignment 35％
Usual performance score　30％
and a fraction of in-class contribution.
