Outline (in English)

Learn the following points as an introductory lecture on libraries.
(1) basic functions of the library (collection of materials, organization, provision and preservation function
(2) Types of libraries (philosophy, institution, actual condition of national / public / university / special libraries)
(3) Library related laws (library law and related laws)
(4) Role of librarians (expertise and librarian system, freedom of library, code of ethics for librarians etc.)

The goals of this course are as follows.

①To be able to fully understand the function of the library and its significance and role in society.
② Being able to correctly explain the history of the library and the needs of users
③ Understand the role and qualifications of library staff as an information professional and be able to explain correctly to others.

Learning activities outside of classroom
Be sure to read the text and prepare for it.
As a guide, the preparation and review time for this class is about 2 hours each.
