Outline (in English)

(Course Outline)
I think you have heard of "Brexit." The British decision to leave the EU is becoming a very important factor in the world. This course introduces the British culture to students by reading a textbook on Britain.

(Learning Objectives)
The goals of this course are to improve the reading and listening skills as well as understanding the British culture. Especially, students will be required to read the English text precisely. The topics of the textbook vary from politics, culture to art. Therefore, students will be able to understand the background of Britain.

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Students will be expected to read the textbook beforehand. Your study time will be about one hour for a class.

(Grading Criteria/Policies)
Grading will be decided based on in-class contribution (30%), mid-term assignment (20%), and term-end examination (50%).
