Outline (in English)

Tetrahymena is a research material that led to the discovery of ribozymes and the telomere, which won the Nobel Prize. Even now, discoveries such as epigenetic regulation by chemically modifying histones and genetic reediting by low-molecular RNA have been made using Tetrahymena as a research material. In this lecture, we introduce wonderful research results revealed using Tetrahymena, with the aim of students to understand the cutting edge of modern biology. In addition, students want to learn how researchers have reached a major discovery of biology by using Tetrahymena and understand the interest of biology and the wonders of Tetrahymena.
