Outline (in English)

The purpose of this class is to understand the interrelationship between politics and social structure from a macroscopic point of view. We will learn the basics of classical theories on civil society and state, political ideology and class conflict, and look at various topics of civil society from an institutional and cultural perspective.

The goal of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the basic issues, principles, and approaches of political sociology.

Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.

Final grade will be calculated according to the following process Mid-term report (30%), term-end examination (30%), Short reports(20%)、in class contribution(20%).
