Outline (in English)

This class focuses on finance in economics for students who have never studied finance before. As a university student and a member of society after graduation, it is difficult to spend time without touching finance. In the spring semester class, students will learn the meaning of finance in economics, the words used in finance, their meanings, and calculation methods, and aim to acquire financial literacy in their daily lives.
A "Finance" is indispensable in daily transactions. In the class, we study theories and systems related to financial transactions, but it is also very important to learn about the relationship between finance and the economy through daily news and newspaper reports. I hope that students will pay attention to financial information outside of class hours.
Grading for students will consist of two parts: 80% will be based on mid-term and final exams. 80% will be based on mid-term and final exams, and 20% will be based on class participation and quizzes/assignments. A grade of "S" is given to students who have achieved 90% or more in all grades, "A" is given to students who have achieved 80% or more, "B" is given to students who have achieved 70% or more, and "C" is given to students who have exceeded the minimum passing grade. Students who fail the course will receive a grade of "D". This evaluation method is in accordance with the Hosei University evaluation standards.
