Outline (in English)
【Course outline】
This course provides students taking this course with a foundation in sociology and develops a sociological perspective on issues in various areas of society. Topics include family, gender, labor, and health care.
【Learning Objectives】
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
To be able to understand the basic concepts and theories of sociology.
To be able to examine social phenomena from both micro and macro
perspectives.
To be able to deep their understanding of the multilayered nature of society and be able to understand the origins of social issues from multiple perspectives.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Prepare (not submit) for the next lecture, which will be written on the distributed resume. Preparation includes thinking about what is being reported in the media and reading report. As a review, grasp the entire contents of the resume and confirm the key words. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following in class contribution: 50% T, Final Report: 50%.

この科目はこのコースを取る学生に社会学の基礎を提供し、社会のさまざまな分野の問題に対して社会学的な見方を醸成する。家族、ジェンダー、労働および医療などを扱う。
到達目標Goal
コース修了時、以下を達成できる。
社会学の基本的な概念や理論を理解する。
社会現象をミクロとマクロの両面から考察できる。
社会の複層性に対する理解を深め、社会的事柄の成り立ちを多角的に捉えることができる。

基本的には対面となるが、状況によっては、リアルタイムオンラインもしくはオンデマンド教材を配信する可能性もある。課題は毎回提出することを想定しているが、遠隔で講義を受ける学生がいる可能性やオンデマンド教材配信の場合も考慮して、システムからの提出を原則としたい。リアクションペーパーの全体講評は基本的に次回の授業で行う。

授業時間外の学習（準備学習・復習・宿題等）Work to be done outside of class (preparation, etc.)
配布するレジュメに書かれている次回の講義の準備（提出物ではない）を行う。準備は、メディアで報道されている内容について考えたり、資料を読むなどである。復習として、レジュメの内容全体を把握しキーワードを確認する。本授業の準備学習・復習時間は、各2時間を標準とする。

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
平常点50%と期末レポート50%を成績の判定基準とする。

100分という時間の中で、映像や話題になった事件の報道資料などを積極的に取り入れ、理論と実践を接合させたリアリティのある授業内容にしていくことが重要だと感じた。
