Outline (in English)

We compare and consider many regions of the world and Japan based on many kinds of materials, and learn that there are various regions and people in modern society. From there, we foster the ability to think for ourselves the importance of the coexistence of diverse people in a globalized society. The purpose of this course is to deepen our understanding of the island life space by considering the general nature of islands and the diversity of islands based on materials such as maps, statistics, newspapers, videos and photographs.
In each session, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
Grading will be decided based on the following :
reaction papers : 50%,term-end reports : 50%
