Outline (in English)

As in the spring semester, this course deals with occidental literature, especially works adapted for music.
The works dealt with during the fall term will be :"The Marriage of Figaro", "Tarare", "Don Giovanni" (opera works presented in Peter Shaffer's "Amadeus", which will be also treated in this course ); "Le Fantôme de l'opéra", one of the most popular musicals, originally written by Gaston Leroux.
Through this course students are expected to get knowledge to appreciate analytically and critically literary and musical works.
Students should read beforehand relevant works. They need also to submit an assignment after having studied each work, for which they must spend at least two hours.
Final grade will be calculated according to the total score of their assignments (100%).
