Outline (in English)

We read the story of Ise, focusing on the chapters that have a remarkable influence on later literary works. While comparing how things of the same subject change with Yamato Monogatari and Noh's works, we will consider the position and value of Ise Monogatari in Japanese literature and culture.
You will be able to feel that the classical literature, which is often thought to be distant from ancient writing, has some fun that is similar to us today, and at the same time, we have acquired knowledge of literary history, and have an interest in and culture of Japanese culture. The goal is to increase.
We will also find out the relationship between the enjoyment of literary works and the creation of new literary works.
While being influenced by the times when literary works were established, the state of contemporary literature is also based on the two aspects of the value that can be understood beyond the times and the understanding and enjoyment of works that are deepened by understanding the times. I want to think in view.
Lecture format using texts with modern translations.
Distributed as materials when dealing with works other than texts.
Since it comes with a modern translation, the modern translation is not the goal as in the old sentences of high school, but it is a lecture for reading comprehension based on it.
Also, depending on the number of people, I would like to have discussions and exchange opinions on reading comprehension.
Expect a non-passive, class participation attitude.
When Noh is broadcast on TV, I think it's easy to create an image if you are interested in watching it.
Looking back on the history of Japan from the Nara period to the Muromachi period at the level of Japanese history in high school, it is easy to understand the historical background.
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
Report at the end of the semester submitted at the time of the final class.
A theme that I set for myself about the story of Ise, its enjoyment, and the works that followed, and is equivalent to 4000 characters. This is almost 100% of the evaluation.
An important evaluation criterion is whether the expression of the work is properly read and the thoughts are expressed in logically easy-to-understand sentences.
Attendance is taken every hour, and more than half of the attendance is eligible for report submission.
