Outline (in English)

Students will gain an understanding of current topics in management accounting and the state of practice in companies in a variety of industries. In this way, students will deepen their understanding of not only their own company's situation, but also issues related to various areas across companies, as well as learn about themes in new areas. In addition, this course will provide students with a hint on how to think about themes for their master's thesis.
By listening to lecturers who are engaged in actual business practices in actual companies on each theme, we aim to understand the themes of financial accounting, management accounting, finance, tax accounting, and auditing theory, as well as to understand the existence of diverse practices by understanding the practices of other companies, not just the situation of our own company. In addition, through understanding the practices of other companies, the goal is to understand whether one's own awareness of the issues is unique to one's own company or whether it is common to other companies.
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
We will introduce literature and other materials related to the theme of each lecturer in advance, so please read them. In addition, if the lecturer is a guest from a company, please be sure to read the company's website.
Grading will be based on 50% on participation and contribution to the discussion in the lecture and 50% on the final report.
