Outline (in English)
The course covers the network technologies and important protocols with following both ISO network 7-layers model and the Internet reference model. The students are expected to well understand how a general network and the Internet work. Concrete physical networks, such as Ethernet, token ring, Wi-Fi and bluetooth will be also taught. Basic network programming will be done using Python.

授業の概要と目的(何を学ぶか)Outline and objectives
The course attempts to provide the unified knowledge about computer networks and important Internet protocols as well as basic network programming techniques. Students can learn various TCP/IP protocols and wired/wireless networks.
到達目標Goal
Students are expected to understand fundamental architecture and technologies in computer networks and the Internet, and master basic network programming skills using Python.

授業の進め方と方法Method(s)(学期の途中で変更になる場合には、別途提示します。 /If the Method(s) is changed, we will announce the details of any changes. )
This course covers general technologies of computer networks and the Internet, and network programming techniques. The network technologies are taught in a top-down approach, that is, starting from application protocols in the top layer, then going to the middle in transport and interconnect layers, and finally moving to the bottom of link and physical layers in networks. Not only the paper-based homework, students will also do network programming using Python, namely in a way of learning by doing. Students are also requested to summarize the main content learnt in each class.
I will take up the tasks (quizzes and reports, etc.) imposed in the class, and will give feedback to students in the class.
