Outline (in English)

1. The lecture in the first half will give The lecture in the first half will give the historical and basic stories; (1) concept of an energy in analytical mechanics; (2) relationships among thermodynamics, analytical thermodynamics, and analytical chemical thermodynamics; (3) extension of analytical electrochemistry from analytical chemical thermodynamics and solid-state electrochemistry; (4) applications to the solid-state electrochemical theory to present battery technology.
2. In order to understand or predict behaviors of solids at elevated temperatures in high-temperature processes or phenomena, we have needed high-temperature physical properties of various materials. Therefore, the lecture in the second half will explain principles and techniques for measuring various thermophysical properties such as specific heat capacity. Prior to the explanations of measurement techniques, theoretical descriptions of high-temperature physical properties, which result from microscopic or / and macroscopic structures of the materials, will be provided in terms of basic solid state physics.
