Outline (in English)

【outline and objectives】
This lecture aims to learn the principle and mechanism of distributed computations on computer networks,in particular, basic items about self-stabilizing algorithms, which are algorithmic design methods for distributed computing in faulty computer networks.
【goal】
Explain models of distributed systems, the concept of self-stability, and its motivations. The concepts of self-stabilizing algorithms and self-stabilizers on various distributed computation models and their concrete examples can be explained. Furthermore, the convergence time to self-stability and local self-stability when a failure occurs in the system can be explained using real examples.
【learning outside the classroom】
4 hours per week.
【grading criteria】
assignments and reports: 80% presentation: 20%.
